Madison County authorities arrested a Maryland man, saying he tried to rape two Madison County High School students who were skipping class. Zackary Lyman Powell, 21, was charged with two counts of criminal attempt to rape, two counts of child molestation and one of criminal trespass following the incident. Powell followed the girls when the 15-year-old ninth-graders began walking away from the school. The girls ran when he approached them, but Powell chased the girls into a wooded area off campus, where he caught them and tried to sexually assault them.
Trespassing is a very serious crime.
